The Graphic User Interface (GUI) available in the IXP Range is designed to allow complete control over the site and all the hardware on the site through the GUI. The GUI is a multilayered graphic representation of the site and supports jpeg and gif images. The layers are designed as follows:
Site Map: Available with the IXP400 system where multiple sites are supported. A map of the area is loaded and each site is placed in its respective location. The Site Map indicates the online status of the site (important in the case of dial up sites) and, in the case of an alarm, will initiate which site the alarm has occurred on. By simply double-clicking on the respective site icon the GUI will open up on the floor plan where the alarm has been activated.
Base Map: The Base Map is the first map for the site and indicates the locations of each building. An unlimited number of buildings can be placed on a Base Map with each building supporting multiple floor plans. In the designer mode cameras and hardware can be located on the Base Map in their respective locations.
Floor Plan: The Floor Plan is the map of the respective floor in the building and shows the layout of rooms and/or offices. In the Designer mode hardware and cameras can be located on the Floor Plan in their respective location.
The site can be controlled through the GUI and by right-clicking on each hardware icon a list of
options will appear. Depending on the hardware unit selected options will include:
- Open Door
- Monitor Location
- Initiate Emergency Unlock
In the case of an alarm the GUI will indicate the alarm status and location through audio and visual indicators. The operator then has the option to acknowledge the alarm or ask for alarm response instructions. Where required it is possible to enforce an authorised tag presentation to acknowledge the alarm and to enforce a written response indicating the reason for the alarm and the actions that were taken.
