Firmware is the embedded software component used in all hardware available in the IXP range. The correct firmware version should always be used with the respective version of software. Firmware will require upgrading either in order to correct a bug or to facilitate a feature requirement. All firmware can be upgraded to the units using the ImproX Firmware Upgrade Utility.
